CBD: Cannabis without the high
For all the amazing health benefits that cannabis has, it is still illegal in many parts of the world. A major reason for this is the psychoactive properties that the herb has. There is a common belief that if something gets you high, it must be immoral. While the morality or immorality of getting high could be debated for days on end, the objective fact is that there is therefore a market for something that provides the medical benefits of cannabis without the psychoactive effects. That substance is CBD. CBD stands for cannabidiol, and it is the compound in marijuana that has most of the massive health benefits that people experience when they begin using cannabis. THC, on the other hand, is the psychoactive compound that gets you high. CBD is legal in some areas where cannabis is illegal, and even where cannabis is legal there are many doctors who prefer to prescribe CBD because of the fact that it does not have psychoactive side effects. CBD levels can vary. Different strains of cannabis have different concentrations of CBD and THC. Many of the varieties that are bred primarily for recreational use have super high concentrations of THC. However, there are also varieties that are being bred for medicinal use, which have high concentrations of CBD and low concentrations of THC. This means that even without having to have the CBD extract by itself, you could use these varieties of cannabis for their medicinal value without impairing your ability to function in everyday life. CBD does not make you high. Many people who use marijuana want to get high. But there are many others who simply want the health benefits. Doctors often prefer to prescribe remedies that have as few side effects as possible. CBD is a bad choice for recreational marijuana users because you won’t feel anything from it. It is a great choice for medical marijuana users, though, because it provides the amazing benefits of cannabis without making you loopy. CBD is safe. CBD has very few side effects, and is considered to be safe even at high doses. It does not impair psychomotor function, meaning that you can safely drive while using CBD. It also does not impair psychological function, so you will be able to think just as clearly and quickly with CBD as without it. CBD helps with many health problems. Animal studies have indicated that CBD helps with a wide variety of health problems, both minor and major. Extensive human studies have not been completed on the health benefits of CBD, though there are studies currently being conducted on the isolated compound. A study published in the British Journal of Clinical Pharmacology found that CBD is effective at combating the following health issues: • Nausea
• Vomiting
• Seizures
• Psychosis
• Inflammation
• Neurodegeneration
• Tumors
• Cancer
• Anxiety
• Depression CBD counteracts negative effects THC. THC is not known to have a level of overdose which can be lethal, but it can still cause unpleasant effects. Some people experience paranoia or memory problems after enjoying THC, while the compound is also known to cause extreme sleepiness. THC also has many benefits, but for people who have an unpleasant experience with THC, CBD can counteract the undesirable effects. Check whether CBD is legal in your area. Despite not being psychoactive, CBD is still illegal in many places. If marijuana is controlled or illegal in your state or country, CBD may also be illegal. However, there are also many states and countries where CBD is allowed but marijuana, even medical marijuana, is not. Check your local laws (http://norml.org/laws) to make sure you are on the right side of the legal system if you want to try CBD for its manifold and amazing health benefits.
Mr. BC Seeds
Mr. BC Seeds is an over educated old school hippy who has been involved in the cannabis industry since the 1970's. He is one of the most experienced marijuana breeders in Canada if not the entire world. He was the first to use the most advanced breeding techniques in 2008 to create 42 of the world's strongest cannabis strains. He has been writing in-depth articles about cannabis in Canada for decades and looks forward to continue bringing you cutting edge cannabis strains for the decades to come. Mr. BC Seeds uses a "pen name" because he still travels the world collecting cannabis strains and continues researching cannabis in laboratories of non-legalized countries.
