Medical cannabis clinical trials
Canopy Growth is exploring how cannabis can improve the health of both people and their
pets. Cannabidiol (CBD) is popular for treating many medical conditions. From sleeplessness to stress to inflammation,
CBD is in demand. CBD is the part of the cannabis plant that does not cause the traditional high of THC. CBD also comes from the hemp plant. Canopy sees a market for
pets and is researching CBD to help them deal with anxiety.
Canopy CEO Bruce Linton said hemp is a protein that is easy to add to your pet’s food. It is important that pets get every opportunity to have long, happy lives if they respond to CBD.
However, according to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), you cannot market the health benefits of CBD products. But people can buy them if they want to avoid expensive drugs. There are currently 770 cannabis clinical trials in the US. More and more patients seek more natural, cheaper alternatives to over-the-counter prescription medications.
