Is shroom tea good or bad for your health?

Eating mushrooms is considered to be beneficial for your health. Mushrooms help maintain the fibre and antioxidant contents in your body. Mushrooms are also known for their medicinal properties. In ancient times, people used them as medicinal ingredients. But today, modern research is showing them a something quite different. No doubt, it’s a great food with many potential health perks. They are now becoming your new super food.

Most of the time, we consume mushrooms as a salad or we just fry them and then eat. So, what happens when you drink them?

You must have heard about shroom tea which is a trending drink these days. The question must have popped up in your mind that why is this tea so famous, why is it that everybody can’t stop talking about it? Is it really that good? Does mushroom tea provide the same health benefits to our body as mushrooms do?

So, this shroom tea is actually more of a supplement than a food. This tea is not about some mushrooms that you can buy from a grocery store. It is more like a concentrated extract of mushrooms, a powdered mushroom.

The tea is sold as a mix of powdered mushroom extract along just like  any other type of tea, for example, green and black tea. If you’re not a tea person, then you can also try out the mushroom-coffee blend.

Different varieties of mushrooms like reishi, lion’s mane, and Chaga are blended with the tea. These different varieties of mushrooms are considered a great stress buster for you.

Now you must be thinking about whether you should add a cup of shroom tea to your daily routine or not?

The mushrooms are known as adaptogens i.e. they are non-toxic plants that help the body resist stressors. Ayurveda has been using them for centuries, as they’re extremely helpful when it comes to dealing with environmental, external, and emotional types of stress. Ayurveda is something India has been using for over 5,000 years. They use meditation, yoga, massage and herbs to prevent illness. This idea of  Ayurveda is forward thinking as it’s always best to prevent ailments rather than to treat it after the fact.

Benefits of Shroom Tea:

Mushrooms are considered to be good for our health as they’re filled with antioxidants, fibres and are a good source of Vitamin D.

Antioxidants present in it help prevent chronic diseases. Fibre, on the other hand, makes you feel full. The tea contains less fibre content. Vitamin D is important for our bones and immune system. Drinking this tea on daily basis helps you fight inflammation and can even help fight cancer. It helps in controlling the blood sugar levels in our body and provides a sufficient amount of energy to our body. It’s important to get a bit of daily sunshine with your tea for its full health benefits.

  • Should you give a try to Shroom Tea

The above mention benefits of shroom tea are mentioned above. If the shroom tea is recommended by your doctor to you and if drinking it makes you feel any better then you must try it.

One more thing about this tea is that it is comparatively more expensive than other conventional teas. But, the shroom tea is worth investing your money. I’ve met many people that swear by King Agaricus (KA-21) mushroom tea as the ultimate immunity booster to fight off cancer. They were taking tea using King Agaricus mushrooms grown in the Amazon jungle and then processed into tea in Japan. The quality of other KA-21 is not confirmed for this use.

The side effects of shroom tea are still uncertain. So, the best option would be to ask your doctor if you can start drinking it or not. The recommendation of your doctor becomes even more important if someone is already on any medication.
