Anyone with basic gardening skills can grow cannabis. But understanding the selection of marijuana seeds is what requires you to be more careful.
Different kinds of seeds are available in the market depending upon the THC levels, climatic conditions, purpose of growing (feminized or regular), and more.
If you are a first time grower or someone who has just started their journey of growing your own marijuana, then this article will help you to choose the best seeds!
The basic things that you should consider while selecting the seeds are:
Now, let’s take a brief look at each one of them.
Different species of marijuana require different atmospheric conditions. Some can be grown indoors while some require bright lights and are more suitable for outdoors.
That’s why while choosing marijuana seeds consider where you wish to grow the plant.
If you’re going to grow it indoors then you can go for Northern Lights, one of the best indoor marijuana. While if you’re planning to grow it outdoors then Sativa can be one of your choices.
Growing marijuana is not a herculean task but it can be difficult for beginners. Whereas experienced growers find it quite easy to grow marijuana.
Keeping in mind your gardening experience, particularly marijuana, will save you from a lot of trouble. If you’re a complete beginner then going for an easy cannabis growing plant such as cookies is advisable.
But, if you are an experienced marijuana grower then you can opt for any species of seeds as you are already aware of the challenges and ways to grow marijuana.
If the purpose of growing marijuana on your own is to produce more seeds then buying regular(male) seeds is the best bet for you.
But, if you’re looking to grow marijuana to produce smokable or consumable products then buying feminized seeds will be beneficial.
Feminized seeds make it possible to grow buds and flowering parts that are used to make marijuana. Whereas male seeds or regular seeds do not develop such parts but produce high quality of seeds, which can be feminized or regular.
Do you know? Different types of plants grow differently. For example, cannabis plants such as sativa can grow up to 1.2m therefore, it requires more head space.
There are some other strains such as indica that do not grow in height, but instead, grow in width requiring wider space.
So, while deciding which seeds you should buy for growing marijuana, you should consider the kind & amount of space available with you.
Selecting the best seeds may yield the best or the highest THC levels of marijuana. That is why we put more emphasis on the kinds of seeds you buy.
There are so many species available in the market that it becomes overwhelming to select the best out of them. If you find yourself stuck in this situation, then you can always refer to this article or simply contact BC Seeds.

Im not a beginner grower. My gramps had a strain when I was growing up everyone loved. My grampa got the seeds off an old farmer who crossed an afghan with a durban and then stuck w the best strain for many generations. It grew so well here in Vermont. It was a lime green fluffy and sticky bud. they yielded probably 2 onces per plant. My grampa past away 10 years ago and the seeds died w him. Id love to try to reproduce this amazing strain but now days there are zero pure strains. So my question is, is it possible to recreate a similar strain when its really hard to get the pure strains needed to reproduce this strain.
