Differences between Hemp and Marijuana

Differences between Hemp and Marijuana may surprise many of you. Hemp and marijuana are both derived from the cannabis plant, but they are not the same thing. While they may look similar, there are significant differences between hemp and marijuana in terms of their uses, legal status, and chemical makeup. In my post, we’ll take a closer look at the differences between hemp and marijuana.

Commercial Hemp Production

Hemp is a variety of the cannabis plant that is grown specifically for industrial uses. Commercial hemp production is legal in many countries and is used to produce a wide range of products, including rope, clothing, and building materials. Hemp is also used in the production of CBD oil.

Hemp Seed Oil

Oil from hemp is produced from the seeds of the hemp plant. It is a versatile oil that can be used for cooking, as a dietary supplement, and in skin care products. Unlike CBD oil, hemp seed oil does not contain any CBD.

Hemp and THC and CBD Content

Hemp contains low levels of THC, the compound that is responsible for the “high” associated with marijuana. Instead, hemp is high in CBD, a non-psychoactive compound that is believed to have a range of health benefits.

Marijuana and THC and CBD Content

Marijuana, on the other hand, is high in THC and low in CBD. This is what gives marijuana its psychoactive effects and makes it commonly used for recreational and medical purposes.

Marijuana Uses

Marijuana is used for a variety of purposes, including recreational use, medical use, and in some cases, religious or spiritual use. The most common uses of marijuana are for pain relief, to relieve symptoms of certain medical conditions, and to induce feelings of euphoria.

Uses for Hemp

Hemp has many uses, including:
  1. Rope
  2. Textiles
  3. Building materials
  4. Biofuel
  5. Food products
  6. Personal care products
  7. CBD oil

Farmers Growing Hemp for Profits

Farmers can grow hemp for profits, as hemp is a versatile crop that can be used for a wide range of products. In addition, growing hemp can be more profitable than growing other crops, as it requires less water and pesticides.

Hemp and Marijuana are different

Hemp and marijuana are both derived from the cannabis plant, but they are not the same thing. While they may look similar, there are significant differences between hemp and marijuana in terms of their uses, legal status, and chemical makeup. Hemp is a versatile crop that can be used for a wide range of products, and is a profitable crop for farmers. Mr. BC Seeds

Mr. BC Seeds is an over educated old school hippy who has been involved in the cannabis industry since the 1970's. He is one of the most experienced marijuana breeders in Canada if not the entire world. He was the first to use the most advanced breeding techniques in 2008 to create 42 of the world's strongest cannabis strains. He has been writing in-depth articles about cannabis in Canada for decades and looks forward to continue bringing you cutting edge cannabis strains for the decades to come. Mr. BC Seeds uses a "pen name" because he still travels the world collecting cannabis strains and continues researching cannabis in laboratories of non-legalized countries.
