Compounds found in cannabis

As a cannabis breeder who studies the compounds found in cannabis, I have a deep understanding of the science behind THC and CBD, the two most well-known compounds found in the plant. Below I will provide an overview of these compounds, as well as other cannabinoids, and new discoveries in the field.

THC

THC, or tetrahydrocannabinol, is the primary psychoactive compound found in cannabis. It is responsible for the “high” associated with cannabis use. THC attaches to cannabinoid receptors in the brain, which leads to the release of dopamine and other neurotransmitters, resulting in the euphoric effects.

CBD

CBD, or cannabidiol, is another compound found in cannabis. Unlike THC, it is non-psychoactive, meaning it does not cause the “high” associated with cannabis use. Instead, CBD is known for its potential medical benefits, such as reducing anxiety and inflammation. CBD works by interacting with the body’s endocannabinoid system, which helps to regulate various bodily functions.

Cannabinoids

Cannabinoids are compounds found in cannabis that interact with the body’s endocannabinoid system. In addition to THC and CBD, there are over 100 known cannabinoids. Some of these, such as CBG and CBN, are being studied for their potential medical benefits.

New cannabinoid discoveries

Recently, researchers have discovered new cannabinoids that have the potential to provide medical benefits. For example, THCV has been found to have appetite-suppressing effects, while CBDV has been found to have potential anti-seizure properties. These new discoveries are opening up new possibilities for medical cannabis research.

New cannabinoids are constantly being discovered

The compounds found in cannabis, such as THC and CBD, are complex and have a wide range of potential effects. The discovery of new cannabinoids is opening up new possibilities for medical cannabis research. The science behind the compounds found in cannabis is still being studied, and there is a lot more to learn about the plant. Mr. BC Seeds

Mr. BC Seeds is an over educated old school hippy who has been involved in the cannabis industry since the 1970's. He is one of the most experienced marijuana breeders in Canada if not the entire world. He was the first to use the most advanced breeding techniques in 2008 to create 42 of the world's strongest cannabis strains. He has been writing in-depth articles about cannabis in Canada for decades and looks forward to continue bringing you cutting edge cannabis strains for the decades to come. Mr. BC Seeds uses a "pen name" because he still travels the world collecting cannabis strains and continues researching cannabis in laboratories of non-legalized countries.
